This large Tuareg bowl, hand-carved by women of the Tuareg people, is characterized by beautiful incised patterns. As a nomadic pastoralist, the Tuareg use these bowls for food transport and storage. The bowl has developed a wonderful patina from use over time, including metal staple repairs that preserve its original form. Its size and unique craftsmanship make it a striking decorative piece as well as a functional one.
